With the looks of Kylie Jenner, and talent of Hailee Steinfeld, Olivia Haidenbauer, or OLIVIA hopes to become the next big thing in the music industry. Might she be the next Australia’s pop star, like Kylie Minogue?
Just recently, the talented young artist just released her debut single, “MOMENT” to Australian radio as well as in Spotify, taking the local music industry in a storm. Hollywood Treatment had the privilege of interviewing the young and talented artist:
Can you tell us a little about the idea behind your new track “Moment”?
I was on Santa Monica Pier in LA, just walking, and I saw this guy and he took his headphones off, and we just had this fleeting connection. It was a moment, in every sense of the word. That’s where the title came from.
You got to work with some pretty cool songwriters lately. Can you tell us a little about the writing process? What was it like working with them?
Yes. So I’ve worked with Chris Brown’s writer, his name is Sam Hook. He’s super awesome. He’s like raw with how he write his music, he’s super chill. He’s a really nice guy, and I’ve worked with Ariana Grande’s producer, Tommy Brown. They’re a team of producers and they just produce music all day and night. It’s a pretty awesome experience.
Cool. Do you have any other loves other than music?
I love fashion. My style is super eclectic. I love mixing up street-wear and high-end labels and I make sure I style all of my photo shoots I’m hoping to create my own brand one day and fashion label. That’d be awesome.
For now, though, Olivia plans to release her material organically – “I might drop a surprise EP soon” – and is focused on growing her Australian fan base, and hopefully breaking the lucrative American market. Highly ambitious with the talent to match, Olivia explains, “This is my Plan A. I don’t believe in having a Plan B.”
OLIVIA is supporting Jai Waetford on his Australian tour, kicking off this Saturday 8 July in Sydney at Oxford Art Factory.
MOMENT will be released this Friday on iTunes and is attached for your reference.
