It’s no secret that Jennifer Lawrence is an outspoken starlet who has gone through the gauntlet on-screen, but nothing compares to what she experienced in reality.
During Elle’s Women in Hollywood event, Lawrence spoke about how she was sexually harassed early on in her career.
As one of the eight honorees at the event, Lawrence recounted the abhorrent nude line-up she was forced to participate in.
“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” Lawrence said.
Another actress who was offered the role before Lawrence had already been fired for not losing the weight fast enough.
“During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me.
We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates,” added Lawrence. “After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.”

Lawrence spoke out about what had happened to her by relaying the encounter to another producer.
She explained to him that the weight loss demands were inappropriate.
“He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly f***able,’” recalled Lawrence.
The mother! Star also explained that she felt “trapped” by this horrifying experience and didn’t know what to do.
“I let myself be treated a certain way because I felt I had to for my career,” she shared.
“I’m still learning that I don’t have to smile when a man makes me uncomfortable,” she added.
“Every human being should have the power to be treated with respect because they’re human.”
