Ever heard of someone, hating his or her own song? All those time and effort you poured to your masterpiece, and then just disowning it in the end. Well, Miley Cyrus might be one of them.
“It’s kinda crazy that I’ll always be known for licking a sledge hammer”
It came up during an interview on The Zach Sang Show, where Cyrus played a game of “Marry, Eff, Kill” with some of her songs.
“Marry would probably be The Climb because it still has a message I’m down with,” said Cyrus. “Eff would be 7 Things. Kill would be Wrecking Ball.”
The Malibu singer went on to explain that she feels haunted by it.
“That’s something you can’t take away … swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever. Once you do that in the mass that I did, it’s forever.”
Cyrus added: “I’m never living that down. I will always be the naked girl on a wrecking ball. No matter how much I just frolic with Emu, I’m always the naked girl on the wrecking ball … I should have thought how long that was going to have to follow me around.”
“Swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever, I am never living that down.”
She also said she’s hoping the hype around the controversial clip will have cooled off by the time she dies.
“That’s my worst nightmare is that being played at my funeral,” admitted Cyrus. “That’s my worst nightmare … is being like, ‘We’ll always remember Miley,’ and then that. ‘She was a great person.’”
