Former Sydney tradie Jacob Hankin sold then later repurchased his ticket to Future Music Festival back in 2013 – Little did he know that this decision would change his life!
The 23-year-old, who spent part of his childhood living in a housing commission home, was discovered by a Kult Australia modelling agent while dancing at the festival with his mates.
Four years later, his career has seen him land a global campaign for Diesel and walk for Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren and Givency.
“I was a typical southwest kid,” Hankin told Sydney Confidential.
“I had a shaved head and was wearing my bum bag and a scout came up and asked me what agency I was with and I was like ‘what are you on about’ and he said ‘are you a model?’
“That was the joke for the rest of the day, every time I said something it was ‘shut up Mr Model’.”
